Before the write is acknowledged to the host in a Dell PowerStore 1000T, I/O is saved within the node DRAM memory. This is done to ensure that the write operation is successful and so that the data is safely stored in the event of a power failure. The data is then passed through the deduplication and compression logic, and finally stored on the nonvolatile media of the NVRAM drives.
